Impending event close

This is for raising urgency.

The impending event close, involves coming up with an upcoming event that affects the deal negatively. This could be something like low stock, a competitor releasing an alternate product, or a sale ending.

This is usually used to put a positive spin when the upcoming event is ‘impending’ or perceived as less favorable.

As long as you put a short timeline on the event and clarify that the deal will not be as good afterward, some customers may make a decision there and then.

An example of an impending event close would be something like:

‘I know for sure that this offer will be ending Friday. But if you buy before the weekend I can secure this discount’.

or

‘The product is flying off the shelves, it should be gone by tomorrow, but we still have a few’.
